“W” Don’t Talk Real Good

So the president was inaugurated for his second term today. Thankfully, I managed to avoid the news for most of the day, but did catch an interesting story on NPR about the oratory style of “W”.

All Things Considered, January 20, 2005 ยท Robert Siegel talks with Allan Metcalf, author of Presidential Voices: Speaking Styles from George Washington to George W. Bush, about President Bush’s inaugural speaking style. Metcalf notes misplaced emphases that weaken the speech, along with other telling moments.
