I’m a fan of the public radio show This American Life. A recent show entitled “Godless America”[Real Audio File] was particularly great—especially Act Two of the show where Julia Sweeney tells the story of her loss of faith after actually reading the bible. In this excerpt from her play that ran in Los Angeles we learn that the last book of the bible (Revelation) says only 144,000 people will be saved and get into heaven (none of them will have “defiled themselves with women” so that means most heterosexual males are right out…).
