SONGS FROM THE SIXTH BOROUGH is a Plain Parade third anniversary compilation of 18 MP3’s featuring Philly bands covering other Philly bands of both past and present.
You can listen to an online stream of the songs and then purchase and download the tracks from apolloaudio.com.
Why am I telling you all this? Well for one, I was asked and pleased to play drums on Andrew Chalfen’s contribution of the Joey Sweeney tune “Blue But Not Really” (#17). Two? The Motherfucking Clash cover the Dead Milkmen’s “Take Me Apart” (#18). And last but not least - the whole thing is really great!
Thanks to Sara Sherr and Maria Tessa Sciarrino for a great compilation and happy third anniversary to Plain Parade!

Yeah! I love the name “Motherfucking Clash” but originally thought it was a hardcore band or something. It was then interesting to hear Carolyn’s take on the song. I do like it and her performance. I did “google” and see she’s the founder of the Girls’ DJ Collective and also spins as Miss Meow in town. Very cool!
