The new site design is mostly done. The CSS file and most pages validate. There are a few little things to deal with like clean up comment form code, and fiddle with the header area. I might re-think the navigation in the Portfolio section. I wanted something bolder than the white, grey and green theme of before and I think I got it. I was reluctant to use the orange background in the portfolio section, but think it works on the rest of the site.
The grey photo band may change in the future. I originally wanted to have the large and most recent image on the front page—the new 900 pixel wide layout will accommodate this—but I’ll need to fold in the photo gallery code I use and that’s not going to be easy.
I’ll leave you with one of my favorite sites on the Internet that I came across back in 1997: Wes Clark’s “Avocado Memories”.
