For a time I was dead set against taking photos and liked to travel without a camera telling myself to just experience the moment and not worry about the pictures to prove it. The advent of affordable quality digital cameras makes it easy to take pictures. I like the instant gratification of digital - I've never liked waiting for the film to be developed and returned.
All photos are taken with a Canon A70 digital camera. I purchased a 256MB compact flash card so that I can snap away and try different things without running out of memory. This allows me to take up to 156 shots at a time before downloading the pictures to the computer. I post the photos that I like and that work for me. You may like some more than others.
I try to keep image processing to a minimum. I almost never crop a photo and instead try to use the camera's display to set up the composition when taking the shot. I usually apply sharpening to only the lightness layer in LAB color mode. I will occasionally adjust brightness/contrast. Images are then resized to 600 x 450 and saved as JPGs. I save at the maximum quality settings in an attempt to keep them looking good - so please be patient when looking at the photos.
When you get in the gallery, use the arrow links at the top right to page through the photos. I update the site so you always see the latest photo first. Clicking on the photo itself will take you back one picture.
